ACCESS: Femtosecond system based on Ti: Sa crystals (Avesta-Project)

The laboratory staff has access to the Ti:Sa crystals femtosecond system based in the Laboratory of Femtosecond Optics and Femototechnology, ITMO University.

The driving oscillator is a titanium-sapphire laser (TiF-50F, Avesta-Project, Russia) with a central wavelength of 800 nm, a pulse duration of 50 fs, and a repetition rate of 80 MHz. The maximum energy in a single pulse is about 5 nJ. The system also consists of an optical stretcher (pulse duration at the output of 150 ps), a regenerative amplifier and an optical compressor. An additional Pockels cell located at the output of the amplifier allows one to control the energy of a single pulse from 0.001 to 2.2 mJ and the pulse repetition frequency from 0.1 Hz to 1.0 kHz. The pulse duration at the output of the system is 35 fs. By tuning the base of the compressor, you can change the duration to 2 ps with a positive and negative chirp.
